Denver, Colo., (August 30, 2011) – Jones International University® (JIU®) is pleased to partner with the Douglas County Educational Foundation (DCEF) to re-launch the successful Educator Scholarship Program for all employees in the Douglas County School District (DCSD). The program will provide up to $1,000,000 in scholarships for DCSD employees who meet eligibility requirements.
The initial scholarship program was introduced in 2009, when Jones International University launched a partnership with DCEF to offer up to $1,000,000 in scholarships to over 100 DCSD employees. The program targets individuals who have the desire to advance their careers, as well as complete continuing education requirements. Since 2009, over 135 Douglas County employees have been named scholarship recipients. The success of the initial program continues to fuel excitement for the re-launch.
“This is an excellent example of how a private-public partnership works for the benefit of Douglas County students,” said Sean McGraw, executive director of the Douglas County Educational Foundation. “Our goal is to provide exceptional resources for all DCSD employees to continue to grow professionally, affect positive change in our students’ lives and maintain our District’s tradition of providing a world-class education for all students.”
