Jones International University® Partners with Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver as Presenting Sponsor of 2014 Noche Éne-Bé-A (NBA) with the Denver Nuggets

Night at Denver Nuggets Game celebrates Hispanic Community Pride

On March 5, 2014, Jones International University® (JIU®) partnered with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver to be the Presenting Sponsor at the 2014 Noche éne-bé-a  (NBA) with the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.  A celebration of Hispanic heritage and culture in association with the NBA, Noche éne-bé-a is an annual event highlighting the continued commitment of the NBA to celebrate diversity
in the game of basketball.

JIU representative, Alexander Garcia, doctoral graduate student and Lead Faculty Member in the School of Business, presented the game ball at tipoff along with the Chairman of Directors of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver, Jose Amaya. Prior to the game, the Hispanic Chamber hosted a special pre-game reception for chamber members, guests and JIU representatives.

“We had a great turnout for the pre-game reception. It was great to see such a diverse group of Denver businesspeople and business owners. Noche éne-bé-a provided us the chance to honor our members while also giving back to the community,” Amaya said.

“We were so excited to be the presenting sponsor for this annual Hispanic community pride game with the Denver Nuggets through our partnership with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver,” stated JIU Chancellor, Dr. Milton
Goldberg. “Just as Jones International University is committed to changing
lives through the enabling power of education, we’re also extremely dedicated
to supporting our local community and giving back to the deserving youth in the
Denver area.”

Courtesy of Jones International University’s sponsorship, nine Denver-area students from North High School also received Nuggets game tickets from Mi Casa Resource Center, one of the Chamber’s member charities and one of Colorado’s oldest and largest Latino-serving nonprofit organizations.

“The Nuggets Game was a wonderful opportunity for the Mi Casa youth and me to take off our school hats and make some noise for our home team.” stated Lora Fike, Afterschool Programs Facilitator.
