Jones International University Appoints New President

David E. Leasure Succeeds Robert Golightly

DENVER (July 11, 2005)-Glenn R. Jones, chancellor and CEO of Jones International University® (JIU®)-which received the first accreditation in the United States of a completely virtual institution-has announced the appointment of David E. Leasure, Ph.D., as president of the university. Dr. Leasure has been serving as JIU's vice president of academic affairs, and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of former President Robert Golightly. Golightly will be heading up the university's strategic initiatives, expanding its opportunities in the military and corporate communities.

"We are very fortunate to have the depth of talent at JIU to fill both of these positions with such highly qualified individuals," said Jones. "It will be a seamless transition of the university's administration, and will also allow us to intensify our focus on expanding JIU's academic offerings."

Dr. Leasure joined JIU in July 2004. Prior to JIU, he served as vice president of academic affairs and director of compliance for Colorado Technical University, where he was responsible for accreditation and compliance adherence, academic quality, new program development and introduction, academic policies, enrollment management, graduation and career services. Dr. Leasure launched CTU's online program and led it through several successful accreditations. He also served as dean of computer science.
