Mr. Cassidy is a full time Clinical Professor at the University of Denver, where he has taught classes in law and ethics in the Daniel's College of Business since 2000. In February 2002 he was named Chairman of the Department of Ethics and Legal Studies. In addition, Mr. Cassidy does consulting with various business interests. A former Colorado Lieutenant Governor (1994-1995) and State Senator (1991-1994), Mr. Cassidy served for two years as Minority Leader of the Senate. From 1998 until 2000, Mr. Cassidy served as President and CEO of the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry, Colorado's state chamber of commerce. He also served as the President of the Economic Developers Council of Colorado. He is an attorney; has owned a title insurance company; has developed both residential and commercial property; and currently owns and operates the oil and gas company he founded. Mr. Cassidy's many honors and awards include: Outstanding Legislator Award (Colorado Bankers Association); Outstanding Legislative Efforts Award (Colorado counties); Guardian of Small Business Award (N.F.I.B.), the 1999 Rural Trailblazer of the Year Award (Colorado Rural Development Council), and the ACLU's Legislator of the Year Award. Mr. Cassidy was a Harvard University Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government in 1991.
