Overview
In this mentoring session, you will immerse yourself in completing the literature review for your DBA project. By the end of the course, you will have produced the first draft.
Emphasizing the peer-to-peer mentoring model, you will be engaged in participating in weekly graduate seminar discussions and teamwork with other members of your cohort. The faculty mentor will provide guidance and feedback to all students.
Your faculty mentor will assist you in understanding the literature review process. You will learn how to survey scholarly articles, books, and secondary sources such as dissertations and conference proceedings relevant to your issue or research question.
The mentoring session will assist you in completing the last two stages of literature review:
- Data evaluation – determining which literature makes a significant contribution to the understanding of the topic.
- Analysis and interpretation – discussing the findings and conclusions of pertinent literature.
After completing the final two stages of the literature review, you will refine existing questions; or, perhaps, start the process over with new research questions.
The review of literature is rarely a linear process. It is, rather, an iterative process of questions, research, review, refinement, and new questions, cycling until you can finalize your research question.
