Overview
This course will encompass a general knowledge of the principals of storytelling through the use of audio elements. You will use sophisticated equipment such as microphones and digital recording devices to produce soundtracks for storytelling elements and to provide an audio compliment to video productions. You will create a course project that tells a story without pictures, including the use of Foley sounds, music tracks, and synchronous narrative or dialog.
In this course you will learn to control the environment of the story through sounds—how to shape and augment the experience of the audience and generate a sense of reality in their experience. You will learn sound gathering and editing techniques and develop an understanding of the equipment used to capture and manipulate sound.
