Overview
This course is a self-guided opportunity to further develop your communication skills in a specialized area. To complete the course, you will serve as an intern in a media organization or work with a virtual mentor.
You'll want to choose an Internship if you seek more general knowledge about a media organization or profession, and perhaps survey or participate in a range of activities specific to your discipline of interest. An internship can give you a broad overview of where you might fit best within an organization or profession, and help you affirm your intended career path.
You'll want to choose Virtual Mentoring as your focus in DM210 if you wish to create a portfolio or resume tape that showcases advanced skills in your primary area(s) of interest. Always, the goal of Virtual Mentoring is to demonstrate your abilities as a professional communicator as you seek employment or advancement in the profession or field of your choice.
