Overview
This course is the last in a four-course sequence designed to help candidates develop a solid working draft of the second chapter of the candidate’s dissertation. Topics covered are:
- The importance of proofreading and revision.
- Avoiding plagiarism and expanding the reference list.
- Creation of the Literature Review introduction.
- Creation of the Literature Review conclusion.
The course project, Chapter 2: Literature Review, Level 2, is the submission of the second chapter of the candidate's dissertation. Candidates revise, enhance, and fine tune (punctuation, scholarly writing, citation format, word usage) the first draft of their literature review, which is Chapter 2 of their dissertation.
Course Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Develop a literature review introduction and conclusion.

Utilize learned skills in ensuring that the proper credit is given for all sources utilized, both quoted and summarized, to reduce any possibility of plagiarism.

Complete a comprehensive, correct, APA compliant, and complete doctoral-level list of references.

Critically analyze, correct, and improve previous drafts of the literature review, so that the final submission reflects the highest standards of writing, as expected at this degree level.

Submit a final draft of the review of the literature: Chapter 2 of their doctoral dissertation.
