Overview
Managing Change covers the principles, practices, challenges and burdens for initiating and implementing change management efforts for adult education programs. It provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to accurately and completely plan, implement and evaluate change management efforts for adult education programs. The course blends two instructional strategies. First, the student explores the basic principles and related practices for applying the elements of change management. Second, the student applies the learned principles and practices in a sponsored synthesizing project applying change management principles, practices and methodologies to a change effort in an actual adult learning organization.
The course project, Change Management Project, is designed to demonstrate mastery of the course objectives. Change management principles, practices and methodologies will be applied to one of the sponsoring organizations adult education programs. A final written report detailing the outcomes of the application of the change management process will be the synthesizing course project.
