Andrew Wichern joined Jones International, Ltd. as corporate counsel in 2009. Mr. Wichern assumed the counsel responsibilities at Jones International University in 2011 where he also serves as its corporate secretary. During the past fifteen years, Mr. Wichern has advised businesses serving in both a legal capacity and in various professional business services roles.
Prior to joining JIU, Mr. Wichern was a lawyer with the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster and the regional firm of Messner and Reeves practicing in their respective Denver offices. During his tenure, he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and provided general counsel to public and private companies.
Previously, Mr. Wichern worked in Silicon Valley serving in leadership positions within the services operations of venture-backed software companies Opsware, Inc. (formerly Loudcloud, acquired by HP) and Crossworlds Software, Inc. (acquired by IBM) from early stage to post initial public offering. Mr. Wichern began his career as a management consultant for Ernst & Young where he worked primarily in Europe within E&Y’s global client consulting practice.
Mr. Wichern holds a JD degree from Northwestern University School of Law, an MS in Management Information Systems from the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University and a BBA in Accounting from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. Mr. Wichern became a licensed CPA in 1997 and he is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Montessori School of Denver and is involved with charitable organizations located in Denver. He and his wife, Joanne, live in Denver and have three children.
