Kathryn C. Ferrel, M.S.

Kathryn (Kathy) C. Ferrel is the Assistant Director for the Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS), a grant project funded by the Library of Congress. She and her colleagues provide professional development for educators throughout Colorado and Wyoming on primary sources and their use in inquiry learning. Prior to joining TPS she was an Education Specialist for Miner & Miner Consulting Engineers, a market leader in developing and delivering value-added GIS enterprise solutions that reduce cost and improve customer service for energy utilities throughout the world.
Kathy holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Information Technologies from Regis University, and has 10 years experience in the field of Instructional Technology Training. Prior to embarking on a career in Information Technology she spent 15 years teaching middle school language arts, reading and social studies in Loveland and Westminster, Colorado.
Kathy is a native of Colorado having grown up in and around Denver before moving with her family to Northern Colorado in 1995.
She is a frequent presenter at Colorado education conferences including T.I.E. (Technology In Education), C.C.I.R.A. (Colorado Council of International Reading Association), C.S.S.S. (Colorado Social Studies Society), and C.A.L. (Colorado Library Association).
Kathy is passionate about technology and loves to help educators embrace new technology ideas for their classroom.
