Barbara Gutierrez, CPA

Ms. Barbara Gutierrez serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Jones Knowledge Group, Inc. and Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer for Jones International University, Ltd. (JIU).  As Chief Financial Officer, Gutierrez provides financial leadership and direction for JIU and is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, student financial assistance programs and corporate compliance.

Ms. Gutierrez has over twenty five years of broad experience with public and private companies and her professional strength and experience has been the financial and operational management of emerging businesses.  Prior to her appointment as Chief Financial Officer, Gutierrez was the Corporate Controller for XCare.net, Inc. (currently Quovadx Holdings, Inc.) a leading provider of software and solutions for the healthcare industry.  Ms. Gutierrez also previously served as the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of PhyCor of Denver, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of PhyCor, Inc.  Ms. Gutierrez’s professional tenure also includes executive level positions with several subsidiaries of HealthONE.

Ms. Gutierrez is a Certified Public Accountant with prior experience at Deloitte & Touche, LLP (formerly Deloitte, Haskins & Sells).  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree from the University of Denver.  Ms. Gutierrez is a member of the Colorado Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and various educational professional associations.
