John E. Jennings

John Jennings serves as the Chief Information Officer for Jones International University.  In this capacity, he is responsible for developing overall technology vision and strategy in alignment with JIU’s “Student First” philosophy. Jennings has over twenty-five years of experience in information technology management.   

Prior to joining JIU, Jennings served as Vice President of OppenheimerFunds Corporate Technology Group where he was responsible for managing the technology initiatives, application and data strategies, and architecture planning for OppenheimerFunds as well as enterprise strategies with parent company Mass Mutual Financial Group.  Jennings also has acted as Director of Information Services for Jones Interactive where he was responsible for servicing the IT requirements of Jones InterCable, and as Director of Information Services for Times Mirror Shared Services and twelve years of technology management responsibilities with AT&T.  

Jennings holds a MS in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado, a BS in Computer Information Science from Regis University and an AS in Computer Programming from Bristol Community College.
