Dr. Valdes obtained his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education and Human Resource Studies with a specialization in Higher Education Leadership, Masters in Education with an emphasis in Adult/Continuing Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Latin Studies all from Colorado State University. In addition, he holds a Masters in Telecommunications from University of Denver.
Dr. Valdes has taught undergraduate and graduate courses over a period of twenty years at non-profit and for-profit higher education institutions in the areas of technology management, computer information systems, telecommunications, psychology of success, career strategies and business. He has also served as Dean of Academic Services for a multi-campus for-profit career college. Dr. Valdes has presented at national and regional conferences on student success and technology. His research interests are focused on student success modeling in higher education with an emphasis on the influences of student and institutional characteristics on inclusiveness, particularly for underrepresented student populations.
