Juan Dempere
Dr. Dempere has taught finance for more than 10 years. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Finance at Metropolitan State College of Denver, a position he has held for the last six years. Previously, he was a part-time instructor at Florida Atlantic University from 2001-2005. Dr. Dempere was the receipt of the Best Paper Award of the Financial Services Institute at St. Johns University both in 2008 and 20010 and received the Award of Excellence from the Center for Innovation of Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2007. He has taught several courses including managerial finance; entrepreneurial finance; treasury and working capital management; personal financial planning; security analysis and portfolio management; analysis of financial statements; and financial markets & institutions.
Dr. Dempere's research interests include Initial Public Offerings, banking, corporate governance, leveraged buyouts and the effects of financial regulations. He has published in several journals including the Review of Business; the Journal of Global Business and Technology; the International Journal of Trade, Economics and Finance; and the Journal of World Economic Review. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of the Americas, a not-for-profit organization with the mission to facilitate commerce and understanding between the businesses and governments of the Western Hemisphere.
