Dr. Leslie Loughmiller has taught courses in curriculum and instruction and special education to both undergraduate and graduate students for more than 11 years (1999 to present). Currently, she is teaching for both St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and Texas State University-San Marcos in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
She was the runner-up for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2005 and the recipient of the Educator of Honor by Kappa Delta Phi in 2007 from Texas State University-San Marcos.
Previously, she was an administrator for the early childhood department in Austin Independent School District from 2005 to 2009. From 1992 to 1999, she held a teaching position as a deaf education teacher in both Georgetown Independent School District and Austin Independent School District.
