Marie Revak is the director of assessment for Lewis-Palmer School District in Monument, CO where she oversees the administration of large-scale assessments, prepares student achievement and accreditation reports, conducts data analysis, guides teachers and administrators in using data for instructional decisions, and facilitates the creation and implementation of district-wide common assessments. She has been in this role since 2006. From 2002 to 2006, she was the director of professional development for the district. Previously, she served as the first director of academic assessment at the United States Air Force Academy (2000-2002) where she was also an associate professor of mathematics (1999-2002), the director of faculty resources (1998-1999), and assistant professor of mathematics (1996-1998). While at the academy, she was twice given the Math Department Instructor of the Year award.
Marie has numerous professional publications and presentations focusing on both assessment and mathematics teaching. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the Association of Colorado Educational Evaluators. She was recently a member of the Colorado Department of Education’s Assessment Review Subcommittee on Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Assessment.
