Richard Cox, Jr. joined JIU in January 2011.  In his role as President, Mr. Cox represents the interests of all constituents and is responsible for the direction and control of the University and affairs of the organization. He works closely with the Board of Trustees and is responsible for leadership and overall strategic direction of Jones International University (JIU). Mr. Cox is ultimately responsible for the sustainability of the University, in order to continue to best serve JIU students.

Prior to joining JIU, Mr. Cox was Vice President of Customer Experience for Orbitz Worldwide, Inc., a publicly-traded global online travel company, and led the development and implementation of world class customer care processes and systems throughout nine of the company’s worldwide units.  Before joining Orbitz, he was Director of Worldwide Operations for Worldspan, a travel technology and content provider offering electronic distribution of travel information, internet products and connectivity. 

Mr. Cox’s professional leadership qualities and robust knowledge of technology, online delivery and customer care make him an invaluable member of the JIU leadership team.   

Mr. Cox has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management from Liberty University in Virginia and a MBA from Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
