Sudhir “Sudy” Kudva joined JIU in 2010 as the Special Assistant to the Chancellor. In this role, he was responsible for executing the Chancellor’s strategic vision and was successful in implementing many key initiatives. In 2011, Sudy assumed the role of SVP of Operations and assumed responsibility for the Admissions, Financial Aid, Training, Student Services, Registrar, Web Services and Course Design and Development departments. Sudy continues to work closely with other Senior Leaders and the Board to help ensure an exemplary student experience at JIU.
Prior to joining JIU, Sudy was the Director of Finance at Monroe Group and provided strategic direction for the company’s financial portfolio and oversaw a multi-million dollar budget. His previous experience includes senior level positions at Avaya, Austin AECOM, CHFA, Inflow, Qwest and the Federal Reserve Bank. Sudy has a BS in Finance from Truman State University and an MBA from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Sudy is also an extremely active member of the Denver Community and has a clear passion for philanthropy as he is involved in many and varied local non-profit organizations. His volunteer activities include mentoring for the Byrne Urban Scholars, an organization which focuses on helping at-risk youth to graduate high school and continue on to college, and acting as a board member for the Youth Opportunity Foundation (YOF). In addition, he serves on the finance board of the Denver SafeHouse, and the board of the Denver Business Series. He also provides sponsorship funds for the Ascent Foundation, Hoofs and Paws and various other non-profit organizations. Not only does he volunteer much of his time as a mentor, fundraiser, organizer and sponsor for our local non-profits, he also encourages his peers to give back to their community as well. In recognition for both his business and community work, Sudy received the Denver Business Journal’s “Forty under 40” award in 2008.
