Zhong-Lie Wang has spent more than four decades working in education and as a professor for both international and national universities. Dr. Wang is currently a professor in the Department of Computer Science & Technology at Peking University in Beijing, China, and serves as a senior consultant of the Chinese Association for Higher Education Management. He is on the Board of Directors of the China Post-Doctoral Science Foundation, is a member of the Board of Governors of APEC (The Asia and Pacific Economic Corporation) Education Foundation and is on the Board of Directors of Jones International University.

Dr. Wang was formerly the Deputy General Secretary and a member of the Academic Degree Committee under the State Council of China (ADCSC). In 1989 Wang was made the General Director of the ADCSC and served in this capacity for more than seven years. Dr. Wang was the director of the “211 Project” Office of the State Education Commission of China from 1992 to 1996 and was Vice-President of Academic Affairs and Research at Shandong University, Jinan, Shandong, China from 1985 to 1989. In 1991 Dr. Wang was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand and remained on the board for six years. From 1996 to 1999 he served as a member of the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation. Dr. Wang was elected as the Chairman of the Second and Third meetings of the Asia and Pacific Regional Convention on Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Degrees in Higher Education (RCRSDDA) in Paris in 1992 and in Bangkok in 1994. He also served on the board of directors of the Global Alliance for Transnational Education (GATE).

Dr. Wang received his PhD from the State University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. His honors and awards include:

  • National Prize for Natural Science Achievements awarded by the State Council of the P.R. China (2005)
  • Prize for Natural Science Achievements awarded by the Commission of Science of Shandong (1991)
  • Title of "National Specialists with Outstanding Contributions " awarded by the Ministry of Personal, State Council of China (1988)
  • Title of "Distinguished Scientist" awarded by the Science and Technology Commission of Shandong (1987)
  • Scientific Member of the Bohmishe Physical Society awarded by the Council of the Bohmishe Physical Society (1985)
  • Prize of Natural Science and Technology awarded by the State Education Commission of China (1985)
  • Honor title of "Distinguished Professor" awarded by Mayor of Beijing (1984)
